Awards for the best applied papers by young researchers
Two prizes will be awarded for the best papers in applied economics (broadly taken to include applied theory, empirical economics, experimental economics, and computational economics, including both micro and macro approaches) presented by young researchers within ten years of their PhD, i.e. with PhD awarded not earlier than January 1, 2013. When submitting papers, presenters who wanted to be considered for a prize would have had to click a box to indicate their interest and to certify that they are eligible.

Women In Economics (WinE) Mentoring Retreat: Following the very successful WinE mentoring retreats held annually from 2013 to 2022, the WinE Committee is pleased to announce that the 11th retreat will be held in connection with EEA-ESEM 2023. The Econometric Society will once again join forces with the WinE Committee of the European Economic Association in the organization of this mentoring retreat. Co-chairs are Ghazala Azmat and Caterina Calsamiglia (ES).

The retreat will begin at around 2pm on Sunday, August 27, and conclude at lunchtime on Monday, August 28, just before the start of EEA-ESEM 2023. All details will be given out on acceptance of application.

The Retreat is open to early career female and non-binary economists with positions (post-doctoral fellows, lecturers, researchers) at academic and research institutions and who obtained their PhDs between 2018-2023. All participants at the Retreat must be a member of the ES.

Please note that due to such high demand for the Retreat, and limited spaces available, applications by participants at previous retreats cannot be accepted. For full information on the event and on how to apply, go to https://eeassoc.org/events/women-economics-mentoring-and-networking-retreat.
