5th Australian Workshop on Public Finance
Call for Papers | July 31 & August 1 2025 at the Crawford School of Public Policy at the ANU
The 2025 Australian Workshop on Public Finance is hosted by the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute, Australian National University (ANU).
This is a call for submission of extended abstracts or full papers. Empirical papers using Australian administrative datasets—such as A-LIFE, DOMINO, PLIDA (formerly MADIP), BLADE, and Single Touch Payroll—in any area of public economics, public finance, or tax policy, from any discipline, are welcome. Domestic travel and accommodation will be covered for paper presenters and discussants. There is no registration fee for the workshop.
Professor David Byrne, Professor of Economics Ritche Chair of Economic Research at the University of Melbourne, will be a keynote speaker. We may have a second keynote.
Each paper will be assigned an academic discussant and a policy discussant. The conference will also provide an opportunity to discuss the state of development of Australian administrative data, and for researchers that are making use of large administrative datasets to share their latest research and insights.
Submission deadline: 5:00 PM, Sunday 18 May
